Laura Silver Traiger is an associate at the law firm of Ciota, Starr & Vander Linden LLP. Ms. Traiger concentrates on the legal issues facing older and disabled clients, including estate and Medicaid planning, public benefits protection using special needs trusts, guardianships and estate administration.

She is the author of a chapter on MassHealth options for individuals living in the community in Estate Planning for the Aging or Incapacitated Client in Massachusetts published by the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education ("MCLE"). Ms. Traiger is an active member with the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Worcester County Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. She has served on the Board of Elder Services of Worcester and on the Tatnuck Park Assisted Living Advisory Committee.

Ms. Traiger has presented before the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, MCLE, and the Alzheimer's Association. She also speaks regularly before senior and professional groups, including social workers and discharge planners in hospitals, rest homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. She is a regular guest on the WTAG radio show "Your Financial Freedom."

Ms. Traiger received her law degree cum laude from Suffolk University Law School and her B.A. cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
